Customers use existing phones

Consumers’ desire for contactless mobile payment at a POS in a shop has not been met so far because the solution preferred by mobile operators has a very complicated business model and requires the consumer to get a new mobile phone and new SIM card.

  • Mobile operators want banks to rent space on the operators’ SIM cards. Customer enrolment raises many issues because SIMs, unlike payment cards, are personalized at the point of sale.
  • Besides the extra cost and inconvenience of new phones and SIM cards, neither the new mobiles or new SIM cards have been available in mass market quantities.

Consumers use their existing mobiles with the LOGOMOTION PAY CARD.

  • Since 2007, the majority of mobile phones sold have memory card slots, and over 75% of these phones use the dominant micro SD card format.
  • Over 1.0 billion of the 2.33 billion phones sold since 2007 have micro SD card slots. The consumers with these phones can use the LOGOMOTION PAY CARD with their existing phone.
